Junior Wagon Master
Welcome! You can join the Santa Fe Trail Wagon Train and become an official Junior Wagon Master for the Santa Fe National Historic Trail! This new program helps kids and families explore the trail. You'll walk along wagon ruts, visit towns, go to museums, and maybe even see horses, mules, and oxen along the way! After you learn about the Santa Fe Trail and complete the activities, scan the project pages and send them to us at wagonmaster@santafetrail.org We'll check your answers and if all looks well, we will make you an official Junior Wagon Master! When you finish a section of the Trail, you will earn a patch (see below). There are four sections to the Trail, so this will give you plenty of places to explore and learn about the Santa Fe National Historic Trail!

Wagon Master Jake is ready to hit the
trail with you! It's good that you happened by,
because Jake is in need of helpers up and down
the Trail! After you learn about the Santa Fe Trail
and complete the activities, you can become an
official Junior Wagon Master!
Bring your friends and family along on this
adventure--there's four different activity booklets
for you to choose from based upon your age.
When you finish a section of the trail, you'll earn
a patch (see below). There are also four different
sections to the trail, so you have plenty of places
to explore!
The program booklets are available at the
following Santa Fe Trail sites:
Cavvy Edition booklet (for ages 5-8)
Freighter Edition booklet (for ages 9-11)
Bullwhacker Edition booklet (for ages 12-14)
Scout Edition booklet (for ages 15 and up)
