The chapters of the Santa Fe Trail Association are its most important components. Many chapter members live in close proximity to the Trail, and their local knowledge of the area is a critical component in preservation projects and locating and mapping remnants of the Trail’s path across the modern landscape. The chapters offer field trips, social events, trail-related projects, and the fellowship of kindred spirits that is the heartbeat of the SFTA.
Members of the Santa Fe Trail Association are encouraged to join a local chapter of the association if there is one in their vicinity. These are listed below by state, along with a link to their individual home pages. Unlike the 1840s, you won’t have to rattle out to their part of the Trail on a heavy, ox-drawn freight wagon, but can pay them a visit with a click of your mouse button below!
